HM Prison Pentonville 170 Years Photography Exhibition

2012 marked Pentonville’s 170th year and I was commissioned to photograph the prison. For the first time in its entire history an official photographer was permitted inside for one day only. I was given access to document the life of staff and prisoners at Pentonville. As a result of this photo shoot, the photographs are now being used for a permanent exhibition inside the walls of the prison. A book has also been published using the images to document the history, architecture and life inside.

These photographs are the first to be seen outside the prison walls. See the slide show here.
